If you think that abortion is a choice, you should visit this site. If you think that abortion is wrong, you should also visit this site. If you are about to eat lunch and you think it is wrong, perhaps you should not visit this site (until after lunch). Avoid defending things that you have not seen.

I already know that abortion is wrong, I don't need to go to this site.
I cannot imagine where to start with this comment. You would think that such a short sentance would just be a short sentance and not be representative of a deep-seated problem within the Church. I am glad you already know that abortion is wrong. That does not mean that you should not go to the site. There is a feeling among believers that they know enough of something. There is an idea that they have plumbed the deapths of a thing far enough. It is not usually conscious or spoken- but it is there. There is an attitude that is not appropriate to the people of God (or anyone else for that matter) that says that I know what I need to know so I do not see any reason to keep going in my study, thought, or meditation. It is as if they do not really believe that the Lord has more for them. It is as if they believe that they have found the end of God (when no one has even found the end of what He has made, let alone the end of God Himself).
Although I know you personally Dean, and know that you would not agree to the idea that you were finished with learning what God has for you in life, His law, and in everything else- I would ask you to consider a more appropriate to the truth response of something along the lines of, "I do not have time to look at that now," instead of "I already know, I don't need to further investiagate" The Lord's blessings and peace be upon you, brother.
