I highly doubt this picture is current, considering Fairbanks just got a huge snowstorm and all of Interior Alaska is under a deep blanket of white, which hasn't really melted since October. So I must say if the red-bearded fellow in the pic didn't look so jolly, I'd be highly disappointed that I was given "rerun" material on my first visit to War With Self in awhile. But your quote about coffee spoons completely redeemed this experience for me.
