Shift

There then I saw a thing
A thing I had not thought to see
And though it looked askance at me
I knew where I would want to be.

To shift this way and see anew
Is a thing that's hard to do
And all the old ways must perchance
Be undone far in advance.

Before the new might come to light
That I might walk so upright
And see the world in this new way
For I have seen a thing today.
